AML & Refund Policy

Introduction

CleanCents Ltd is committed to responsible operations in accordance with anti-money laundering (AML) practices and consumer protection standards. This document outlines our policies for preventing money laundering and our stance on refund eligibility.

Anti-Money Laundering (AML)

Although CleanCents does not handle large or peer-to-peer transactions, we proactively mitigate AML risk by:

• Using Stripe, Apple, and Google as regulated payment processors who perform identity, fraud, and transaction monitoring.

• Setting soft caps on user activity to detect abnormal or unusually large offset purchases.

• Rejecting any attempts to circumvent our systems to redeem CleanCents or certificates beyond reasonable personal use.

• Retaining the right to request further verification or restrict accounts if suspicious activity is detected.

Refund Policy

All purchases made via CleanCents, including but not limited to carbon offset certificates, CleanCents token contributions, or subscriptions, are FINAL and NON-REFUNDABLE.

By making a purchase, users agree that:

• Offsets are retired on their behalf and cannot be reversed or 'unretired'.

• CleanCents tokens represent a symbolic contribution, not a refundable product or financial instrument.

• Subscriptions and one-time purchases processed through Apple IAP, Google Play Billing, or Stripe are not eligible for cancellation or refund by CleanCents once processed.

We do not issue refunds for accidental purchases, unused credits, or changes of mind.

Users are encouraged to read all project descriptions, prices, and disclaimers before purchasing.

Consumer Protection Disclaimer

CleanCents operates under a model where digital services (e.g. CO₂ certificates) are delivered immediately. As such, the statutory right to withdraw from digital purchases under UK and EU law may not apply.

By confirming your payment, you expressly agree to waive any right of withdrawal for services already provided (e.g. certificate retirement).
