At CleanCents Ltd, we respect your right to control your data, no matter where you are in the world. This policy explains how users globally can request account deletion, how long it may take, and the circumstances under which we may need to retain data.

CleanCents is committed to privacy compliance under global frameworks including:

- Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA)

How to Request Account Deletion
To request deletion, please:
- Fill out the form at https://cleancents.com/delete-account, OR
- Email us at privacy@cleancents.com from the email tied to your account.
We may request additional identity verification for your security.
Timeline for Processing Requests
We will acknowledge your request within a reasonable timeframe and aim to fulfill verified deletion requests within 30 days.
We reserve the right to extend this period in compliance with legal or security protocols.
Post-Deletion Data Handling
- Personal data will be removed from active systems and access logs.
- Non-personal data (anonymized and aggregated) may be retained for research, analytics, and product improvement.
- Retired offset certificates and CleanCents contributions are not recoverable after deletion.
- Some data (e.g., billing records, offset logs, IP history) may be retained for legal, audit, or AML compliance purposes.
Legal Limitations & Retention Requirements
Certain data may be retained beyond your deletion request for reasons including but not limited to:
- Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and fraud prevention
- Financial audit and taxation compliance (typically up to 6 years)
- Contractual obligations with payment processors (Apple, Google, Stripe)
- Legal claims, regulatory requests, or enforcement of our Terms of Use
Deletion Confirmation
You will receive an email confirmation once your account has been deleted. If you do not receive confirmation within 30 days of your verified request, please follow up via privacy@cleancents.com.
